I don’t have extensive knowledge, but I do know that I would use a newer model that has no cracks in it. I’ve even tested my slow cooker and it was negative.

I love your website, I’ve received your recipes for several years. I was wondering if you had any information regarding crock pots leaching lead. I read a post by the Food Babe, she’s an activist, and she discussed the leaching of lead from all ceramic crock pots. I’m in my 60’s, and I have been using ceramic crock pots since my mom cooked for us kids when we were little.
