In reply to Justin Butler. Sounds great. The chuck roast will start producing it's own juices about halfway through. And remember every time you open the lid, you'll have to add on more cooking time for the heat escapes.

I just put this in the Crock Pot. I added mushrooms and onions to it. I will check it about an hour before to see if I need to add more beef broth. I will let you know how it comes out. Also I used a 2.5 lb. chuck roast. So adding mushrooms and onions will make up for the smaller roast.

I don’t usually go by ratings until I make recipes that look so good, I try 2give most a chance. Made a few minute modifications like adding garlic, etc.to this 1, but stuck 2the main ingredients listed. This was made 4employees & patients @my husband’s nursing rehab facility as a late lunch surprise. “To Die 4…All The Rave!!! So many wonderful compliments from both the workers & even seniors who went back for seconds .Tysm 4such a great rendition of this. Could’ve gone even hotter 4my taste !!!

We use Louie’s Italian Beef Seasoning. Great croc pot recipe.

My family is me and hubby, so we cook smaller portions. Could I comfortably cut ingredients in half for 1 pd to 1 1/4 pd. roast and still come out tasty and not over seasoned ? 3 to 4 pds would never get eaten unfortunately. Thank you!
