Add the chuck roast to the slow cooker. Sprinkle over the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and brown sugar. Pour over the worcestershire sauce.
Slice the onion into rings and put on top of the roast. Pour over the barbecue sauce.
Cook on low for 9 hours.
When the cooking time is up remove the beef on to a plate and shred with two forks, discard the fat. Remove all the juices from the slow cooker EXCEPT about 1/2 cup, you can leave the onions in the slow cooker if desired. Add the meat to the juices in the slow cooker. If you sauce seems greasy, you can degrease it with a paper town.
Toast the buns if desired.
Serve the shredded meat and onion on the buns and top with cheese, Arby's sauce and horsey sauce.

Store just the shredded beef in airtight containers in the fridge for up to 4 days. Or in the freezer for up to three months.
No need to sear the meat for this recipe, the recipe is great without searing.
